PREVIEW: Heroes of Nocturne, A Lite-Tabletop RPG is coming to Kickstarter
Greetings, friends. The next step for Stratum Press is being taken. Hotel Erebus and CLEAVE are done, and I’m writing the cyberpunk novel, Mad Malitia. But while you wait for that, the next project will be offered soon. Heroes of Nocturne is a card-based lite-tabletop RPG involving supernatural heroes fighting monsters in a strange world.

House Nocturne is a secret society that consists of many members and agents all around the world. The society was sanctioned by the Orthodox Christian Church centuries ago and now works to fight the forces of Darkness globally. Each member has unique skills and talents, but their loyalty to the society is known only to them.
I introduced two of the members, Elijah Crowe and Mia Wolfe, in my novella Hotel Erebus(on sale soon on Amazon) and more will be introduced in novel-form later this year in the Hotel Erebus sequel, Crown of Horns. For now, you’ll meet more of House Nocturne through the card game.
I’ve play-tested the game several times and it’s great fun. It’s essentially a 1v1 game where one person plays as House Nocturne and the other as the Forces of Darkness. Team Nocturne tries to navigate through a variety of zones to reach an escape which returns them home while Team Darkness attempts to stop them.
The Kickstarter project goes live likely in a week or so. Keep an eye on this Substack for more details. You can see the pre-launch page here and set notifications for the launch.
