For years, I predicted the growth and expansion of a new, decentralized entertainment revolution where independent creatives—empowered by new technologies and online platforms—would build their own empires decoupled from corporate control. It’s happening now.
Authors are making careers out of writing for their own audiences and controlling their destinies. The formula now goes creative>product>customer. The old days of layers of needless abstraction that existed to empower corporate redundancies is over. Aspiring professional creatives can now take their works directly to potential customers, letting the whims of the market determine success rather than entrenched gatekeepers deciding levels of exposure.
We’re not the only ones publishing new works without the haranguing albatross of traditional corporate publishing. Many, many thousands around the world are doing this, too. This newsletter will showcase indie authors and their books, which are usually either entirely free or very inexpensive.
